About WallFlowers
In response to several requests, I made a real-life version of my wallpaper flower so I could share the specs with you. I hope you like the name. Getting the right size balance between the center ring and its spokes turned out to be surprisingly fiddly: too loose and it was floppy and didn't hold its shape, too tight and the whole flower would torque in peculiar ways. This version is just right. It's tight enough to keep its shape perfectly even when suspended, but not so tight that it torques under its own tension.
It's based on the Parallel Flowers design, with more petals and the addition of a center ring and spokes. In the real design, the spokes connect to the pairs of sandwich rings rather than to the captive rings. That makes it more stable and prevents floppiness in the spokes.
This design is very tight, and the medallions are rigid enough to stand on edge. The flowers are so stiff they feel like coins in your hand. Use them as pendants or earrings, or join them together into a chain. If you haven't made WallFlowers before, start with the round ring version before tackling the squares.
To connect flowers to each other, use 2 more of the mid-size connector rings between each pair. For more flexibility, as a small bracelet might need, go up a half-millimeter on those connectors. Connect sandwich rings to sandwich rings, not captive rings.
