Q1. Is this real chainmaille or a print?

A: It’s printed clothing with 3D-built chainmaille artwork—not metal rings. Aislyn models the maille ring by ring so aspect ratios, drape, weightiness, and orientation stay true to life in the image (except when the printed “material” is intentionally fantastical).

Q2. Can I use these for a Halloween or cosplay costume?

A: Yes—many prints are described as real-looking for realistic chainmaille-based costumes; others suit fantasy costumes. They’re comfortable cotton clothing, not protective armor. Check your event’s costume rules separately.

Q3. Are these protective armor?

A: No. Chainmaille in Print is printed fabric for appearance and comfort. It does not provide armor protection. Follow organizer safety rules for LARP, combat, or other events.

Q4. What are the clothes made of?

A: In the High Cotton section, pieces are at minimum 95% cotton (many tees are 96% cotton / 4% elastane; many other cotton garments are 95% cotton / 5% elastane) and printed with water-based pigment ink—confirm the blend on the product page. The No Cotton section uses synthetic performance or lounge fabrics (see that section’s FAQ and each PDP).

Q5. What’s live now vs coming soon for full costumes?

A: Live now: full High Cotton garment range via the cards below, plus No Cotton leggings (men's, yoga, flare, youth, kids), rash guards (men's, women's, youth, kids), unisex track pants, and women's pajama pants & long-sleeve pajama top. Adult cotton long-sleeve tees as a separate cut are not listed as their own cotton product line yet—use rash guards or the pajama top when you need long sleeves today.

Q6. Do you have chainmail print leggings?

A: Yes. Shop No Cotton: Men's Leggings, Yoga Leggings, Flare Leggings, Youth Leggings, and Kid's Leggings. Cotton wide-leg pants and other cotton bottoms remain in High Cotton if you want a cotton silhouette instead.

A: Long-sleeve rash guards are live for men, women, youth, and kids. Women's long-sleeve pajama tops are also live. Cotton long-sleeve tees as their own line aren’t listed yet—watch High Cotton for those if/when they publish.

A: Follow the care instructions on the specific product page you buy (and any care label on the garment). This collection page does not publish a single line-wide wash rule—check the SKU.

A: Read the named print description on each product. Realistic metal-look prints suit armor-inspired costumes; fantasy materials (light, water, glass, etc.) suit fantasy cosplay or fun everyday looks. There isn’t a single “best” print—match the look to your character or outfit.

Halloween-Ready Chainmail Print Clothing

Hello, Aislyn here. I'm Urban Maille's master maillesmith and designer, and one of my favorite hobbies, since the 90s, is 3D graphics. This is the place where those two things come together: I'm building 3D chainmaille armor and printing it on clothing.

Halloween and costume season are a perfect time for it—whether you want a convincing chainmaille look for a costume or cosplay, or you just want to wear the print as comfortable everyday clothing (yes, including pajamas). I build 3D chainmaille ring by ring, the same way I make chainmaille in real life, so everything is accurate—aspect ratios, drape, weightiness, orientation—all true to life except, sometimes, the material that the printed chainmaille appears to be made from. Many of the prints look real and work beautifully for realistic chainmaille-based costumes. Others are made of fantasy materials like light or water or shiny pink plastic, and those are perfect for fantasy costumes or just for fun.

High Cotton Loungewear / Costumewear: When I realized I could print on cotton, I rebuilt the line. Those cotton pieces are, at minimum, 95% cotton and printed with water-based pigment ink—hoodies, sweatshirts, tees (including kids and youth), tanks, crops, dresses, shorts, long shorts, wide-leg pants, and more—so they can be worn as normal clothes, not only once a year for a costume.

No Cotton Activewear / Costumewear: stretch leggings (men's, yoga, flare, youth, and kids), rash guards (men's, women's, youth, and kids—long-sleeve athletic tops), plus track pants and silky pajama separates. Fabrics are synthetic performance or lounge blends—check each product page for the exact percentages. These layers help complete costume builds and work for movement, water/sun sports, or cozy nights in.
