Vortex Medallion Instructions

The Vortex Medallion is a clever combination of Parallel Chain and a Mobius Rose. Parallel Chain is also commonly called Helm Chain, but we'll stick with Parallel for the tutorial.
The medallion is made by first making a 5 section strip of Parallel Chain and attaching the ends together to form a loop. Then the mobius is threaded through then center of the loop.
Most Parallel Chain is used made using 2 ring sizes: the large rings lay parallel to each other and are connected using the smaller rings.
The Parallel Chain for these medallions are made using 3 connector rings on each set.
For the smaller medallions, all 3 connector rings are the same size, but for the larger ones we use 2 sizes for the connectors – The larger connector rings are used for the outside and the smaller ring is the center connector. The reason for this is that the center ring doesn't actually touch the largest rings and floats back a forth just a little. So, by using a slightly smaller ring for the center connector tightens up the design and makes it more visually appealing.
