Really!!! Not that hard.

I was almost scared out of trying this kit by some of the comments. Rest assurred, if you have done all of the other weaves (like me, and other chain junkies) you will definitly have the strength to do the rings. I believe this was the easiest weave to do. I found myself turning the chain for mistakes before I closed up the ring, and by doing that I was able to correct problems. This was the most fun kit yet. DO NOT HESITATE TO GET THIS KIT!

Jens Pind

Been a beader for years and lots of jump ring experience but this bracelet takes my breath away! All I know about Maille I have learned here from the kits and projects. Starting this is tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it's easier than expected. The trick I found is to open the rings larger than you usually expect, then the 'twisting in' is much easier!

Well worth the time and effort

Certainly not a piece to try if you are brand new to the art, but a wonderful piece to show off your new-found skill. Whenever I wear it, at least one person will grab my arm and ask where I got it - and they can't believe *I* made it!

Beautiful and really not that hard!

I put off making this one because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do it. I had looked at some directions online and they looked impossible. However, with Aislyn's impeccable instructions, I completed the bracelet in just about 2 hours. Once I understood what I was doing, it was easy to put the rings in properly - although these rings are heavy and hard to close. The completed bracelet is stunning and definitely makes a statement! Now that I know the weave, I want to make a long necklace in this weave... maybe next payday!

jens pind's bracelet

if you have ever completed a spiral bracelet, do NOT hesitate to order and complete this bracelet. It is very simple and straight forward. it is indeed, simply a spiral made with larger gauge wire. amazing how that changes the look.

Jen's Pind's Is Great Fun

I've completed five of your kits now but thought uh oh when I received the Jen's Pind's and read that I should have completed the Double Spiral 4-in-1 first. I jumped in anyway and after figuring out the first six links zipped right along, finishing the bracelet in one night. I found it surprisingly easy to see the pattern after hearing how easy it was to go astray. It also goes together super quick if you've built up the strength in your hands. The only downside? My husband claimed it for his own the minute he saw it. ;)

Incredible!

I did it! I did it!! First, I made the Double Spiral 4-in-1 bracelet and then I went right into the Jens Pind's Bracelet. Definitely challenging, but worth the time and effort. Great written directions but the photos helped tremendously as well!

your kits

I've done all of them except the Byzantine (all ready learned that one by the time I found you). Your instructions & pictures are the greatest. I've completed everything you have on your website.

WOW!

I can't believe I did it! I jumped right in without doing the spiral first, and thanks to the fabulous directions and pictures, finished it in about 4 hours...man, were those rings stiff, though!

Very Masculine Looking

The chain is very substantial, and masculine looking - would be good for men's jewelry. Easy to follow instructions and good advice about not trying to do it all in one sitting! The weight of the rings is heavier than the other kits so my hands were a little sore - but I absolutely LOVE the end result!

Most Beautiful Weave yet!

I didn't find this weave to be particularly challenging, but it is hard on the hands! I've done all of the kits, and I think the box chain is the most technically difficult.

Gorgeous!!!

I made this bracelet for my husband. He loved it, my son loved it, AND my daughter loved it. It is absolutely stunning! The directions were great but the visuals are what really helps. Also, when placing the rings through the 'gap', it helps to weave it back to front--goes in a lot smoother. I loved the weave so much, I'm now working on a 20g necklace. Highly recommend this kit!

My new favorite!

Admittedly, I love everything I have made from urbanmaille, but this weave has a sort of all of a piece quality...the way it just keeps turning and flowing. It has an intact look which I like. And it is SO heavy! Very luxurious! The rings are gorgeous! It got noticed the first day I wore it. I am very proud of this beauty. Thanks, you guys!

Impressive

Although notable, I found I liked the Byzantine Weave far better. The Jens Pinds Weave was challenging, but easier than the watch, maybe because the watch was the first
chain I'd done. Also, for a journeyman project, I guess I expected something a little more difficult. But more than challenging weaves, I look for decorative weaves, like the Trizantine, Roundmaille, Turkish Roundmaille or even the Box Weave and then regardless of how difficult or easy it is, I find these weaves far more pleasing, because, to me, they are far more elegant. However, doing the Jens Pinds Weave does require a good amount of diligence and perseverance. And the pictures are indispensable.

Well Done!!

Kudos to the kit and to me!!! I was very hesitant to try this since it looks so complex but after doing the 4 in 1 spiral, my confidence was oozing everywhere. Afterwards, after tumbling, I put it on and feel like a Goddess!!! Can't wait for the promised new kits on the horizon.....

Jens Pind

Weaving Jens Pind with 12 gauge 5.5mm Argentium is not easy but, after trial and error, it is the size I prefer. I've had customers, mostly male, who never take their bracelets off and have devastated ones made from 6.0mm rings. The weave is tight, no doubt about it. But the bracelet is surprisingly flexible after it is woven and softens up a tiny bit in the tumbler.

2+2 Chain

I like the idea of working with small rings, micromaille if you will. These rings make a beautiful 2+2 chain and although this is one of the simplest weaves, at this scale it is impressive. Good on you Urban Maille.

I Finally Got It! DON'T GIVE UP!

Third time's the charm! I've been drooling over pictures of this gorgeous weave but never was able to master it. Guess what I glossed over? Aislyn's instructions to turn the chain 1/4 turn. I'd look at her picture and compare it to my chain and be totally lost because they didn't look the same. They didn't look the same because I HADN'T TURNED THE CHAIN! That was my big DUH moment. I LOVE my almost finished bracelet. I will start going down one size at a time each time I do this weave, and the square rings are on my list, too. Don't give up on this one. It's SO worth it! Thanks, Aislyn. Your instructions are great ... it's my brain that isn't.

Truly Amazing!!

I've been wanting to try the Jens Pind design for several years now but always hesitated on purchasing the kit due to the cost and possibility of not being able to figure out the bracelet on my own. After months of contemplation I decided to stop just looking and wondering and just delve in and try it out, so I purchased it. What a great investment! It was exciting and challenging at the same time, it was truly amazing! There were several times I had to scratch my head to figure out certain steps, but once I did it became very easy, the instructions were very easy to follow. I just love the challenges of the different chain maille designs and this is truly a wonderful challenge and great piece to work on! Thank you Urban Maille.

Oh, wow!!!

I'd been hinting around for this kit for months, and finally decided that I'd have to buy it for myself. By chance, I was at a gathering the day after the kit arrived and I mentioned that I was going to spend the evening making a Jens Pind's bracelet. Immediately the other folks - all experienced maillers - exclaimed Start with a starter piece; that weave is impossible to start on your own!! As I sit here now less than a day later, with a gorgeous bracelet on my wrist, I have but one word for them: Pffffftttttt! The instructions in this kit are outstanding (as usual), and while the rings are a bit heavy, the resulting bracelet is quite comfortable. I did have a problem about 10 rings in from the start, so I simply dismantled those rings once I was well on my way. Once again, Aislyn has written instructions that make one of those impossible weaves quite possible.

outrageously easy

I was apprehensive at first about this kit because the specs said you needed to know another weave first, but I decided to take the plunge anyway. Well.....I bought a Jens Pind's kitpack and a kit so that I could make a necklace. I received it today in the mail. Wow!! I made it in the time it took to watch a movie. This was outrageously easy to do. After I had the weave down, I didn't even need to look at the book and found I was working without even looking at my hands. This is a very heavy necklace when finished and is impressive to look at. Also, seeing as how I like hefty jewelry this kit was ideal. My hands are indeed sore from the stiff rings but looking at the end product makes it all worth it. Packaging was great, and I like the fact that the tins are reusable. Shipping was fast and I like that. I will be looking for more kits to buy from here!!

absolutely stunning!!!

i've been waiting a while to have enough money for this chain, and it was definatly worth the wait. the instructions are so easy to follow at after a few links, you don't even have to look at them. make sure you've got a good set of pliers w/ cushioned handles; you're hands will thank you for it!!

Jen Is A Beauty

I also had this kit sitting for about a month. I needed to be in just the right frame of mind because I knew it was a bit tricky getting it started. Well, I finally had a couple hours of uninterrupted time and dove in. Had a little hiccup in the beginning, but caught it right away. Once you are about 7-8 rings in, the pattern is developed and stable and you can turn the chain to find the hole quite easily. It takes some strong hands to work with the 12 gauge rings, but the pattern really jumps out in the large size so it is worth it. Open those rings more than you think you need to and work from the back or bottom of the pattern and the rings go in nice and easy. If you have to fight it, you're probably not doing it correctly. Such a beauty and what a feeling of accomplishment when you have it on your wrist.

So easy...

I bought this kit a few months ago and let it sit on my desk for awhile... I was really annoyed today and decided to work on it to clear my head. OMG, it is so easy, I am shocked. I am halfway done (partly due to the large rings) and can't wait to finish it. So far I have made one mistake that is hidden at the very beginning of the chain so no one will notice but me! This kit totally rocks! =D

great weave

Thanks to good pictures, I didn't have trouble with this one except for one moment about one inch in, I lost my mind for a moment and couldn't find the hole! :) After that momentary lapse, I didn't have much trouble unless I didn't open a ring wide enough. The pattern really stands out in the 12 ga size. I'm making a smaller one for me later.

Loved weaving Jens Pind!

My sister and I, who have woven Aislyn's kits together previously, decided to tackle Jens Pind this past weekend. We were nervous as we had heard how difficult this weave is (and also had never done the spiral chain). I don't know what I was thinking, but I even printed two other sets of instructions in case we needed clarification. That was a waste of paper and ink! We glanced at the other instructions at first, but quickly abandoned them completely in favor of Aislyn's. As usual, her instructions are clearly written and easy to follow. She made this supposedly difficult chain a breeze! We found the most difficult part of this weave was working with the 12 gauge rings. They are heavy and stiff! It was easy to gouge them so we learned to use the pliers carefully. Our bracelets spent a few hours in the tumbler and came out stunningly beautiful! Give this weave a try-with Aislyn's instructions you can do it!

Jen's Pind's is FABULOUS!

This is an UNBELIEVABLE bracelet kit. The instructions make it actually easy and its finished in no time. Whenever I wear it, I consistantly get compliments as it is chunky and very expensive looking. The intricate weave makes it mesmerizing. HAVE FUN and don't hesitate!
