Are You in Business?

Are You in Business?

Aislyn Bryan

Hey everybody! Gary and I are in the midst of adding something new to Urban Maille's business model and I wanted to take a break from implementation to tell you all about it so you can start using it sooner.

We're adding an actual wholesale outlet to our sales channels, alongside our existing quantity discount system. If you've ever read my post on Quantity Discounts vs. Wholesale, you might be surprised, as I was to realize how well these two systems fit together.

If you're in business, contrast and compare the two discount systems detailed below and use the one that benefits you most each time you order. If your order is going over $500, wholesale is probably going to be the way to go. If your order is under the wholesale minimum, our regular quantity discounts remain your friend.

Bonus: The first time you order wholesale, the minimum is only $150. Right now, I have the rings listed at Faire and everything else will be added over the next few days. When you're ready to have a look around, be sure to use this direct link to visit so you're recognized as an existing customer of UM.

Happy Summer!

Quantity Discounts: Our rings are available by the each, meaning you can order just one ring. Our regular price, the retail price, reflects the cost of making just one ring. The cost of making the ring goes down the more we make at one time, so we pass on the savings in our discounts. Hit the first quantity milestone and get a 25% discount on those rings. Hit the second milestone and get a 50% discount, which is the wholesale price. This is how we've always done discounts, so that anyone -- with or without a business license -- can get the wholesale price on any ring by hitting those minimums.

Wholesale: The wholesale price is the same 50% off but on the entire order, not just the ring sizes ordered in quantity. The catch is that the order itself has to hit a minimum total of $500.
