Description

We finally managed to find a better made ring tool. This one costs a little more, but it's made of stainless steel and the slots are precisely machined. And the large slot is even big enough for 14g rings. The ring tool can be used with one pair of pliers to open and close rings. Included in all Beginning Weave Kits.

I'm new to maille, but not to jewelry making, and have gotten used to closing jump rings. This is the first time I used the ring tool, which I got in the byzantine kit. I have to say that it made opening and closing the rings for the kit very quick, and I achieve a better, finer close on the rings using the tool than with two pairs of pliers.

I would reccommend this to anyone new to using the quality rings from Urban Maille. I was able to avoid trashing the sterling and argentium rings I was using. Can't wait to try it out on the copper!

Tested shows the test results for this weave in this ring size by metal.
SS = Sterling Silver
CP = Copper
AG = Argentium
PDS = Palladium Sterling
PTS = Platinum Sterling

A strike through like this CP means that the weave/ring size combination doesn't work in copper. Look for a neighboring ring size to be recommended for copper, instead.
