Note: Obviously, learning all 3 of our Beginning Weaves will prepare you for all of our Apprentice Project Kits but the most important reason for beginning with this kit is that it was designed to lay the best possible foundation of basic skills for a future of chainmaking. No matter how stunning a chain pattern might be, it will look bad if the person who wove the chain didn't learn the basic skills required to close the rings seamlessly and beautifully, no matter the aspect ratio, no matter the conditions. I received this kit and was astounded by how beautiful the rings were and how easy it was to weave.  I've made the flower and 3-3 and will be making by byzantine next.  I definately will be ordering from Urban Maille again.  I was super satisfied with both the product and the customer service.

Fantastic Start & Seamlessly Successful July 20, 2009

I really admire that this is a modern Mom & Pop type of store.  
The flower weave is splendid, and I thought I did a remarkable first time job.  However, when I did the 3-in-3, buyer beware!  This weave should be the first weave to do, it literally forces you to close the rings in a flush manner and how to correct those pesky "pringled" rings.  The 3rd weave came out quite lovely and causes people to stop me and admire my bracelet!
Additionally~I must confess, I compared three different types of rings from three different resources, and I will not buy from anywhere else but here!  The first type of ring snapped into 2 pieces, the second ring set never closed in a lovely flush manner, and the last set..well the silver flaked off as I twisted the rings open and close.

I just finished making my last bracelet which was the 3 in 3.  My first was the Flower followed by the Byzantine.

I confess!  I was ecstatic with each finished product.  In other words, I was surprised that I could do this.  But of course, this would not  have been doable if the materials were not of superior quality and the instructions were not crystal clear.  Elegantly packaged with thought and care, I'm very pleased with my purchase, so much so that I will continue learning by closely following the weaves and projects in sequential order until I have completed the Master Projects.

On a final note, your merchandise, instructions and packaging are excellent!  It is a sincere pleasure to do business with you and I thank you for your meticulousness about yourselves and your products.

Warning! May be addictive! March 15, 2009

The only problem with these kits is that I was so intriqued with this process that I completed all three bracelets in about one week.  They are beautiful!  I made two for myself, and one for my daughter - now I'm ordering two more kits, one for each of my daughters for Mothers Day.  A beautiful product, wonderful instructions, at a very reasonable price.  I checked out rings at a VERY large beading supply store, and found nothing of this quality or at this price.

I'm sure I will be ordering even more kits, and look forward to adapting the designs to add other jewelry components and to be able to make jewelry for my granddaughters as well.

Thanks for a wonderful product to feed my need for a creative outlet that can be completed with limited space and time.

Thank you so much for this beginners kit. I have wanted to make chainmaille jewelry for a long time but didn't know how to start. Your kit is beautiful, concise and a perfect way to start. I've finished my first three bracelets in a week and I'm ordering refills for Christmas. I want to learn and make more sophisticated pieces as soon as I can. Kudos to you for offering a way for people like me to learn the craft without trying to re-invent the wheel !! You're GREAT !

MTO (Make to Order) rings can take up to 10 days to ship (as opposed to our usual 1-2 business days) and cannot be returned to stock because we don't stock them.

Approx. Count per ozt is the approximate number of rings in a troy ounce.

1-4 each is the price of each troy ozt of rings when buying 1 to 4 troy ounces at a time.

5 or More Discount is the price of each troy ozt of rings when buying 5 or more troy ounces at a time.

Width is the measured width of the chain in millimeters.

Flex is the approximate inside diameter of the smallest circle that can be made with this chain... which tells you how flexible the chain is, in case we don't yet have a photo available.

Tested shows the test results for this weave in this ring size by metal.
SS = Sterling Silver
CP = Copper
AG = Argentium
PDS = Palladium Sterling
PTS = Platinum Sterling

A strike through like this CP means that the weave/ring size combination doesn't work in copper. Look for a neighboring ring size to be recommended for copper, instead.
