The Flower Chain Kit is a particularly good first project because the 18 gauge rings aren't so stiff that they make your hands sore the first day. The resulting chain is feminine and midweight.

Note: There's more reason to learn this weave if you make beaded or wire based jewelry because the flower elements make excellent 'hinges' to join together other types of jewelry segments. They're a good way to add the weight of sterling to your beaded pieces less expensively than with a lot of Bali silver.

This was my second kit, and it was just as much fun and easy as the first one was.  It did not take that long to do, and looks great.  This bracelet is beautiful on its own, but also makes a great charm bracelet.

Fantastic kit with high quality rings June 20, 2008

I must say for my first chain maille jewelry project using precious metal, this kit is the best for beginners. The superior quality rings are so wonderful to work with, that I'm now spoiled. The instructions are very clear and informative. I can't wait to get my next kit so I can continue my chain maille jewelry adventure.
The folks at Urban Maille are the best. Keep up the superior work.

This was my second kit and I love it!  The flower chain has a real feminine look and feel to it - it is almost dainty, yet not flimsy.

As one who has develop a lot of training material during my career as a snr software trainer, I must compliment you on the instruction booklet.  It is well laid out, clearly stated, the pictures are great and it is a wonderful learning tool.

As always, the rings are beautiful, uniform, shiny and just right for the weave.

This kit is amazing. The instructions are super clear and easy to follow. I'm sitting on the couch  grinning ear to ear because I can't believe I'm actually making a chain bracelet like ones I'd pay serious money for!

Width is the measured width of the chain in millimeters.

Flex is the approximate inside diameter of the smallest circle that can be made with this chain... which tells you how flexible the chain is, in case we don't yet have a photo available.

Tested shows the test results for this weave in this ring size by metal.
SS = Sterling Silver
CP = Copper
AG = Argentium
PDS = Palladium Sterling
PTS = Platinum Sterling

A strike through like this CP means that the weave/ring size combination doesn't work in copper. Look for a neighboring ring size to be recommended for copper, instead.
